Trip Information

Bring plenty of water, a hat & sunglasses, water shoes, sunscreen & snacks. You might also consider food & drinks on the river and leave a change of clothes/towel in your car.
We have cooler floats available which are great for holding your cooler, shoes, bags, etc.

Kayaks & Canoes: We have 2 trips available, a short trip that is 4.8 miles / 2-3 hours and a long trip that is 10.5 miles / 5-6 hours. Depends on flow and weather conditons
Lazy River Tubing: It is a 4.8 mile trip that will have you on the river for 4+ hours, depending on flow and weather conditions

For Kayaks or Canoes: Boat, bus trip up river, paddle, floatation vest / cushion seat
For River Tubes: 1 round tube, bus trip up river and floatation vest (optional to wear it but it must be present on the tube). The connection ropes are already attached to the tubes to connect your group / cooler float.

Yes, we can transport your personal equipment. See our Canoes & Kayaks page for more details.
For River Tubes: We do not have the capacity to transport river tubes or cooler floats during weekends (maybe a mid-afternoon trip if you have a larger group).
During our weekday hours we are more flexible so just check with us.
River Information

We pull up right next to the river and unload the equipment and get you seated on the river. (during the weekday we may ask you to assist moving equipment if we are short staffed).
When you arrive back at our parking lot, we will do our best to help pull you in but sometimes you may need to hop out (water is very shallow) and pull your boat in and place it in the pile next to the river. Our parking lot is right next to the river so no need to walk far to your car.

Trees? No, this is a wide river so trees are never a problem for blocking your route.
Dry Ground? Possibly in very dry conditions when the river is very low there are maybe 2-3 short areas that will be very shallow and we ask that you do NOT “scoot along” which will tear up our equipment on the rocks and cost you money for equipment damage.
A word of advice, follow the natural current of the river which is usually on the outside curve of the river and avoid going through narrow passes between the river islands during low water.

The Tippecanoe River is rated as a class 1 river (lowest rating) with only a few mild rapids that should not be a problem for you. The Tippecanoe river is a gentle, winding river through the heart of Indiana.

If you would like to go wading in the river before or after your trip, there is a public access at the Springboro bridge along SR 18 that is about ¾ miles north of our location. The river is usually pretty shallow in that area so it’s great for kids.
Of course, you are welcome to get out and swim during your boating or tubing trip but make sure you plan it wisely as it’s very difficult to get back into a boat or tube in deep waters. There are plenty of sand bars and river islands to stop off and many people do this. Make sure to pull your equipment ashore plenty so the waves don’t dislodge it.
One of our favorites is Goose Poop Island, odd name but nice place to stop off and have a meal and a dip in the gentle water. From the short trip it’s not too far until you reach it. On the long trip, it’s about half way thru. There is a prominent sign with name on it.

During the weekend it is highly recommended to book ahead as we are a small, family-run operation and we book up fully at times.
During the weekday you do not need a reservation but just check with us before coming as we do close for river & weather conditions. See our Schedule page for hours and contact info.
For large groups, we do need reservations so we can have staffing to accommodate you.

Rules & Limits

Children under 2 are not allowed.
Canoes: Children 2-12 can ride for free in canoes (up to 4 total people, at least 1 being an adult). Canoes can have 2 adults w/ no additional charge. One additional adult can be added for $10
Kayaks: For ages 7 and up. 1 single rider per kayak.
River Tubing: Ages 2 and up can tube. They will need their own tubes as we do not allow more than one rider in a tube.

Yes, but please keep your dog on a leash until you are on the water as not to disturb other guests or dogs present. You will need to clean up and dispose of any pet waste as well.

Yes, you must have a valid Indiana fishing license. However, we do not allow fishing on river tubes.

Yes, for kayaks and canoes you will need to bring your own rope.
For tubes, they come with a short rope on each side with quick connects so you can effortlessly link your entire group together including cooler floats. We are working on getting some kayak leashes so you can attach your tubes to a kayak and be pulled along if you so choose.
Canoes & Kayaks
Enjoy the scenic views of the Tippecanoe River while paddling your way through calm waters and gentle rapids. We have 1-person kayaks and 2-4 person canoes available

Lazy River Tubing
Kick back and relax in our lazy river tubes, link your whole group together and connect with nature and friends. We also have cooler floats so you can stay hydrated and well-fed all along the trip.
